Overview
Purpose, background and current position
Reinforce the coastal dune line and protect the championship routing on Montrose holes 2–5 against accelerating storm erosion.
Dynamic Coast monitoring shows the dune face has retreated 1.8m at the seaward edge of hole 3 over the last winter. Continued loss threatens the medal tee on hole 4.
Engineering 55% complete. Rock-armour design issued; consenting in train with Marine Scotland. Contingency routing drafted for holes 3 and 4.
