Purpose, background and current position

Purpose

Renew the 1903 Forfar clubhouse roof in like-for-like Scottish slate, securing the heritage envelope and eliminating water ingress to the Captain's Room.

Background

Three significant leak events in 18 months have damaged historic plaster and joinery. The conservation officer has required full slate renewal rather than patch repair. John Frulani Architects led the heritage method statement; CalForth Construction returned the only fully compliant tender.

Current Position

Design is at RIBA Stage 4. Listed-building consent expected late July. Awaiting director sign-off on contractor appointment (d4) before mobilising scaffold and temporary roof.
